Market Ticker keeps the information needed to run your account: your email, plan, watchlist choices, price-alert settings, signup and account status, email confirmation, and connected Mac and iPhone device sessions.
The Mac app sends its account key, install ID, and watchlist during price checks. On iPhone, an app key is exchanged once for a revocable device credential. The credential is stored in Apple Keychain on that iPhone and is not included in backups or ordinary app storage.
When you start a Live Activity, Market Ticker keeps its session status, selected watchlist instruments, alert thresholds, update sequence, expiry time, and the ActivityKit push token needed to send updates. The token is encrypted before storage; a one-way hash is used to detect rotation without exposing it.
Apple Push Notification service receives the Live Activity update needed for delivery. Market Ticker keeps limited delivery metadata such as time, sequence, outcome, redacted error reason, and Apple request ID. Delivery records do not contain the push token, account key, or private watchlist values.
Price alerts are evaluated on the server against available quotes. Delivery is not continuous or guaranteed, and Market Ticker does not infer exchange holidays, time zones, or automatic market close. A market-close state is shown only after an explicit close action.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Market Ticker stores subscription status and Stripe identifiers needed to keep your plan in sync. We do not store full card numbers on Market Ticker servers.
Market Ticker counts page visits, downloads, and campaign visits to make sure the site and ads are working. Short-term server logs, such as IP address and browser type, help us protect the service and troubleshoot broken downloads.
We use account and device-session data to verify access, apply plan limits, synchronize watchlists and alerts, deliver requested Live Activity updates, provide support, process billing, prevent abuse, and operate the apps. We do not sell your personal information or use it for cross-app tracking.
Market Ticker uses a small number of outside services to process payments, send account email, host the service, provide market-price data, and deliver iPhone Live Activity updates through Apple Push Notification service. Each provider receives only the information needed for its part of the service.
Active account, watchlist, alert, and device-session records are kept while needed to provide Market Ticker. Device credentials expire and can be revoked. Ending a Live Activity, signing out, revoking a device, or session expiry removes its stored push-token material so it cannot receive further updates. Limited delivery and security records may be retained to troubleshoot failures, enforce limits, and protect the service.
Market Ticker uses HTTPS, Keychain storage on iPhone, encrypted ActivityKit token storage, one-way token hashes, email verification, app access keys, rate limits, and access controls. No internet service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we limit the data we collect and store.
You can sign out on iPhone or revoke a connected device to stop its access and end its active Live Activity. You can also request help with account access, billing, data questions, correction, revocation, or deletion from the support page.
Deleting account data removes the account’s watchlists, alerts, device sessions, and associated Live Activity records. It also disables connected apps and may end paid access that depends on the deleted account. Some billing, fraud-prevention, security, or legal records may be kept when required.
